You all know we are big believers in creating great content in order to really utilize inbound strategies. See Exhibit A and Exhibit B. Let’s take this time to discuss Nanigans’ incredibly insightful list on “Creative Best Practices for Lead Generation Advertisers,” shall we?

  • “Use Strong, Motivational Language” Your ads should use copy that really grabs a reader’s attention. We’ve noticed that short, concise copy really does the trick. You want your ad to have a direct call to action—one that will entice a user to click through to your website.
  • “Appeal to Your Targeted Audience” Obviously, paid ads (especially on social media) help you reach a very targeted audience. So, knowing that, you’ll want to cater your copy and content to match what your target demographic wants to read and engage with. Remember to uniquely tailor your content to their interests and any questions they might have.
  • “Add Color to Your Campaigns” Let’s face it, at this point in game, there are a lot of splendid ads out there. You have to really step up your game if you hope to be noticed by your target market. Utilize great color contrast in order to stand out in the sea of newsfeed posts.
  • “Guide Prospects Through the User Experience” After you’ve struck a user’s attention, you’ll want to help guide them the user process. Make it as simple as possible. Seriously, make it so clear that any person will know exactly what your business can do for them and why they want your product or service.
  • “Choose A Clear Call-To-Action” All we can really say here is that you need to drive your message home with a clear and strong call to action. Make sure to align your CTA with your message and your content.
  • “Don’t Forget to Name-Drop” Mention your company’s name and incorporate your logo into your ads. The idea here is to represent your brand by aligned it with all of your content and messaging. You’re creating a reputation for yourself, so you do not want any part of your messaging to get lost in translation.
  • “Align Your Landing Page with Your Ad” As we just said, all of your content should be aligned with each aspect of your ads. Your landing pages should reflect the same message as your copy and images. If a user clicks on an ad and your landing page displays something totally different, they will feel misled or confused and exit. This will dramatically increase your bounce rate and no one wants that.
  • “Tell A ‘Before and After’ Story” Nothing gets your point across like a before and after story. Explain why you and your product will change a user’s experience. We need proof. Break out some evidence and really drive your story home.
  • “Be Humorous” Nobody wants to read a boring story with no real story our sense of fun. Add in references to pop culture or relevant current events. Don’t bore your readers with dry and humorless stories. Wow them with your words.

So, what do you all think? Adding in these much-needed elements will definitely help your content strategies. It’s almost as easy as pie…
