magnetic monkey marketing blog content kingContent is king. You know this, we know this, pretty much the whole world knows this. We consume mass amounts of content every single day, so it is up to us to think outside the box in order to produce something unique and engaging. We want to stand out from the crowd to actually impress our target audience.

Steve Lazuka wrote some great tips on Entrepreneur.com about creating great content your readers will actually love. Let’s jump in, shall we?

  • “Be irresistible” First and foremost, your content should draw people in. Entice and engage your reader. Write about things that they just can’t help but read. Part of that is really knowing and understanding your audience. That comes with fleshing out your target personas’ wants and needs. Next, make sure that each aspect of your content draws the reader further in– as in, your headline should make the reader want to read the intro and that should lead into the body, and so forth. Don’t just focus on a killer hook and half-ass the rest. Be concise and engaging throughout the whole content piece.
  • “Write mobile-friendly copy” Mobile is everything. Seriously, most people are coming across your content on their mobile devices, so if they get to the page and it’s not mobile-optimized, you’ll lose them. Mobile-friendly copy also means you have to get to the point quickly. No one wants to scroll endlessly on their phone for a 3 page long blog. Drive your point home efficiently, while not losing out on your particular voice.
  • “How-to posts add value” People love reading about things that they can do themselves. Teach them something! Add value to their life by writing how-to content. Prove to them that you are an expert in your field and wow them with your content. Think about the types of topics your audience would want to learn about and then give the people what they want.
  • “Use power words” If you took even one english class at some point in your life, you heard about “ethos,” “pathos,” and “logos.” Use words that incite certain emotions in your readers. THAT is how you make an impression. Use the power words of your field that will create a specific thought in your reader’s mind. Check out all of these captivating power words you can utilize for better writing techniques.

Seems simple enough, right? Writing engaging content can seem like a chore– or maybe it seems like a monumental task you just can’t get right. It may seem difficult now, but once you get into the swing of it, it becomes much easier and a lot more fun!

It’s so incredible vital to any marketing strategy that you would be remiss in foregoing creating and curating quality content.
