Magnetic Monkey MarketingIt can be quite difficult trying to promote your product in a way that will actually grab someone’s attention. We currently live in a world where researching and picking a product to purchase is easier than making Mac n Cheese these days. We credit Google with that one. With literally everything at our disposal, how do we find ways to stand out? How do we promote our product so that people will WANT us and not the thousands of others Google can offer?

Brooke Chaplan with Creative Guerrilla Marketing wrote the Five Ways to Promote Your Product Right. We definitely agree with all that she has to say and we wanted to share with you.

  • “Word of Mouth” We just talked about this, didn’t we? If you recall from a couple weeks ago, we talked about the advantages of word of mouth referrals. People are your best promoters. Seriously, a great review will do wonders for your business. People trust other people more than they trust a website. Even in this tech world, this rings true.
  • “Email or Text Marketing” We know that phones and tablets allow people find the answers they seek immediately– wifi or no wifi. As marketers we need to make sure we are following what the people want. Millennials love texting these days– just try to stop one and watch it turn into a ravenous zombie ie) The Walking Dead. The point is that text marketing is a thing now and we need to keep up with the trends.
  • “Advertising with Popular Apps” Like it or not, apps are the new big thing. People fucking love them. Chaplan reminds us that, “App designers currently control the major avenues to high volume traffic.” So, it’s up to us to cater to that new reality. Marketing your product through these apps in the hopes of reaching a much larger consumer base.
  • “Leveraging Social Bookmarking” This one should be a given for you, dear readers. You know our thoughts on just how helpful social media can be in regards to marketing and promoting your product. The trick here is to constantly stay up to date and relevant. Your Twitter means nothing if you don’t Tweet– same goes for all the social platforms. These sites are great avenues to connect and engage with your potential customers.
  • “Paid Search Engine Positioning” We don’t foresee this going how of style any time soon. The landscape of SEO might update and evolve, but the idea is still quite popular. Promoting your product through the major search engines will definitely give you a leg up.

So, what are you waiting for? Happy promoting, friends!
