The recent pandemic has certainly required marketing professionals to rely maybe a little heavily on email marketing. It also gave us an opportunity to never underestimate the power of a great email campaign. It can truly do wonders for your business. Email marketing is one of the most profitable marketing channels in terms of your ROI. I’m definitely a firm believer in the power of Social Media, but an email campaign (when done right) can be even more profitable.
Email marketing does two main things very effectively:
- Building Relationships: The idea here is to build relationships with potential leads. It is about building trust with them. A good email campaign can help you sort through your leads. I would suggest tying in your social media sites in order to boost your social interaction.
- Nurturing Relationships: Now that you’ve started to build up your relationships, you must nurture them. Driving sales should be one of your primary focuses. In addition to that, this is about building up your customer loyalty. This is probably the millionth time I’ve said this, but delighting your customers should be at the top of your list. Personalize your emails in order to foster that loyalty and delight. Also, it adds in a much-needed human element, which establishes credibility. Use this time to educate or even upsell! You could create a newsletter to keep your current customers and your potential customers up to date on the goings on of your company.
These things are all well and good, but you must remember to track your ROI. The great thing about email is that you can track ROI fairly easily. It is like an ad but cheaper. Basically, you are using real data to make smart choices.
So how does one create this amazing email? The best advice is to be unique. Set yourself apart form the sea of sameness that is most of the emails people receive. Most importantly, though, identify a specific goal. What is the idea action you are trying to get your readers to do? Always personalize when possible! Be consistent, clear, and concise, while still adding personality into the email. And of course, at the bottom of your email, add in a share and subscribe button.
These are just a few tips and tricks to improving your email marketing strategies. The best thing you can do it track your ROI to see what works best for you and your clientele.
