You know that we are huge proponents of change, but the simple act of changing might not enough. We can’t just change we must evolve.
While scrolling through the wonderful world of Twitter, we came across this awesome video hosted on Entrepreneur.com. Glenn Llopis brings up some really valid points about the way people associate a negative connotation with the word ‘change.’
Often times, change makes your employees feel like they were part of the problem, while the concept of evolution makes them feel like they are contributing to the solution. We want to create a mindset of proactive behavior and not just employees reacting to changes forced upon them. We want an inclusive environment.
Change should not be enabled by fear and mistrust; evolution should be about embracing the unique needs within our teams and businesses in order to proactively accelerate productivity.
Remember these few concepts:
- Change might seem like it creates chaos, but it also creates marvelous opportunity when you choose to evolve.
- Most people perceive change as losing something, but it also means gaining a new perspective.
- Change is often internalized, but choosing a collaborative and evolution-focused mindset creates opportunity to engage with others.
- Without pressure, the change/evolution won’t stick, but it creates new levels of excellences when we embrace it!
