Okay, so at the risk of sounding like a broken record, we wanted to talk to you about certain inbound tactics that will help grow your business. The whole point is to have visitors seek you out and not your company seeking out them.
We know the various ways to go about doing this, right? We’ve gone over it many, many times. We know that it’s absolutely vital to create and share interesting content, utilize social media, and track and measure EVERYTHING. When done correctly, inbound marketing can increase the traffic to your website exponentially—thus leading to higher conversion rates.
Gavin Stafford with Matrix Internet writes a very compelling list of helpful tips to help you further understand how to utilize inbound marketing strategies to grow your business.
- “Research and Data Gathering” If you plan on writing compelling content, you’ll have to research first. This is just a given. You don’t want to write about completely irrelevant topics, so it is up to you to figure out what your buyer personas actually want to read about. This means researching and gathering data. It is all about customization—give your readers exactly what they want. You’ll have to assess your business as well. Know what it is you want and what your ultimate goals are. Remember to stay up to date with industry trends.
- “Good Search Engine Optimization” So here’s the deal… you could write the best piece of content in the history of all time, but without good SEO, it’s all for nothing. You want to get to the top of the rankings so that more and more people will find your site. Some companies get rather lazy when it comes to maintaining SEO—DO NOT BE ONE OF THOSE COMPANIES! It is detrimental to your business. Seriously, good SEO is necessary in any and all digital marketing platforms.
- “Quality Content” In the last blog, we talked about how people want to be constantly entertained… never a dull moment, ya know? That’s where you come in—your quality content to the rescue! Your content HAS to be engaging and interesting, otherwise people will get bored and move on. Be original and witty and the rest will follow.
- “Social Media Engagement” This one should be a no brainer for you, right? We’ve certainly talked about it enough times. SOCIAL MEDIA DOES IT ALL— seriously, we promise, no fingers crossed. Here is a quick list of the things social media does for your business: increased brand recognition, improved brand loyalty, more opportunities to convert, higher conversion rates, higher brand authority, increased inbound traffic, decreased marketing costs, better search engine rankings, richer customer experiences, and improved customer insights. Honestly, the list could go on and on.
- “Keep Your Website Visually Appealing” Your website should be extremely visually appealing or no one will want to stay on it for an extended period of time. Of course, it would be great if everyone judged your site based on your wonderful content, but that is just not the case. We as a people like engaging and visually appealing websites. Personally, we will leave a site without even looking at the content if it’s soul sucking and boring. Put in the effort and develop a really kick-ass webpage. It is definitely worth it.
