Okay, with that being said, what are some of those best practices? Diana Di Gioa with eHealthcare Solutions wrote a great blog on the “5 Best Practices for Optimizing Organic Social Media Content” that we consider little miracles.

  1. “Discovering Who You Want to Target” You know as well as we do that figuring out who your ideal target market is is the first step to great content. You have to know who reads your content and what they want to read about before you start creating it. Once you’ve crafted that target profile, you can start posting on your social platforms exactly what they want to read.
  2. “Keywords are the Secret Ingredient” Obviously content is the lifeblood of your inbound marketing strategy, but it starts with keywords. You know the ones… those buzzwords that everyone in your field knows. Using these will help your organic posts gain more reach. Basically, you’re optimizing for search engines.
  3. “Posting Frequency” You should be posting at the ideal time for your audience. So, even if you live and work in California, but your target market is primarily in New York, you should be posting during New York’s peak hours. Social media is made for engagement, so you want to post at the optimal times for engagement.
  4. “A Picture Paints a Thousand Words” Images, people! Images are so important. Without them, your posts are most likely to get lost in the newsfeed and less people will notice//read them. Utilize dynamic images that really draw a reader into engage with your content.
  5. “Measuring, Analyzing, Testing” Of course, all the tips and tricks in the world mean nothing if you don’t actually test that they work specifically for you. It’s very easy to measure success with social media. You can see how many people like, comment, share, etc. your posts. You can easily see what works and what doesn’t. Use that information to optimize your content and organic posts.
